Scope and contentThe file contains a presentation on behalf of Secwepemc re Resource Management. Fred Fortier and David Moore, both of the Shuswap Nation Fisheries Commission, discuss declining salmon and steelhead populations, mismanagement of fish stocks, the B.C. Fishermen's Survival Coalition's "racially-oriented campaign against the Aboriginal Fisheries Strategy," and recommendations to deal with these problems. Chief Lenny Sellars, Caribou Tribal Council, discusses enviornmental protection, land stewardship, and co-management. Pat Mackasey, Forest Lands Management, discusses his agency and its work with forest use for traditional, recreational, wildlife, parks, archaeological, and general purposes. Mackasey also discusses the Watershed Pilot Project. Commissioner Sillett and Moderator Chief Matthew discuss some of the issues raised with the presenters.
