Scope and contentFile contains a presentation by Chief Gordon Antoine, Coldwater Indian Band. Chief Antoine makes a series of 13 reccomendations for the Royal Commission on the relationship of his people with the Canadian government. These address issues such as 1)land claims, 2)land administration issues, 3)Educational shortfalls, 4)Primary and Secondary Education funding, 5)Accelerated capital funding for schools, 6)Post-Secondary funding, 7)Specific post secondary funding programs, 8)Physical and Sexual abuse, 9)Provision of public health services, 10)Language issues, 11)Banking laws, 12)Policing issues, 13)The need for the Commission to file a report on urgent Aboriginal matters in the aftermath of the failure of the Charlottetown Accord referendum vote. Following the presentation Antoine thanks the Commission. After this a general discussion occurs between the Commissioners and several of the preceding presenters and officials, followed by a Closing Prayer which ends the days proceedings.
