Scope and contentFile contains presentation by Darryl McDonald, Genny Besskkaystare, Sara Josejounnen, and Bertha McDonald. These individuals are students from La Ronge who highlight a variety of concerns including the need for on-reserve high schools, better post-secondary funding arrangements, adult basic education classes, the need for greater Aboriginal representation in the History curricullum, the need to adjust the northern welfare rate to reflect the higher cost of living, more programs for economic opportunities, a need to change the Young Offender's Act to make youth "more accountable for their actions," daycare and rehab programs, and the need for Aboriginal involvement in the Canadian Constitutional talks. Following the presentation Commissioners Erasmus and Chartrand discuss their ideas on it with the presenters, and ask their view of the importance of Aboriginal language instruction. Following the presentation are closing remarks for the day's proceedings by Georges Erasmus (pgs 274-275).
