Scope and contentFile contains a presentation by Bunt Cranmer, United Native Nations, Local 144. Cranmer discusses his organization which he describes as "part of the B.C. body of the United Native Nations and Ernie Gray is our acting president. And the United Native Nations B.C. body is part of the Native Council of Canada. And these two organizations are the lobbying force for the off-reserve, status, non-status, Inuit and Metis people." He then goes on to discuss how their primary concern in Port Alberni is education, and how his organization helps their people financially in this respect. Cranmer goes on to discuss issues such as self-determination, women's issues, biculturalism, view so the Indian Act, resdiential schools, the need for unity amongst Aboriginal peoples, a 30-bed native elders health care project his organization helped implement, general health care concerns, and their pride in making this centre for the elderly a reality. Commissioner Erasmus and Robinson discuss the centre with him following the presentation.
