The presentations cover a variety of issues including: Non-status Indian recognition by governments, urban and off-reserve population's issues, self-government, rights, the Indian Act, Federal policy, the need for a new Constitutional relationship between Aboriginal peoples and the Federal government, poverty, support for the Charter, taxation, economic development, resentment of Aboriginals amongst the non-Aboriginal population, discrimination, the need to educate non-Aboriginal Canadians in their history and the Treaties, and pay equity. Afterwards a discussion occurs between the presenters and the Commissioners on the issues raised. | |
