Historical noteIn early 1893, issues of the Wawa began including word translations and prayers in phonetic orthographies for Aboriginal languages in southwest British Columbia such as Shushwap, N'lakapamux ["Ntlakapmah" or Thompson] and Halq'emeylem [Sto:lo].
