Curator's note | Blacksmiths fabricated a wide variety of iron and and steel objects needed on early farms and settlements including horseshoes, cooking utensils, and agricultural equipment parts. Most of their work involved forging - the hammering, bending and cutting of hot metal to the required shape. |
