Curator's note | Commercial beer production began in Saskatchewan in 1887 in both Prince Albert and Moose Jaw. In 1927 the Hub City Brewing Company built the plant in this photograph in Saskatoon. The plant became the Western Canada Brewing Company in 1930 and then Drewry’s Ltd in 1932. The capacity of the Brewery at that time was 72 bottles per minute. The Brewery was acquired in 1956 and operated as O’Keefe Brewing until 1989. |
