Curator's note | The construction of the Broadway Bridge was the city of Saskatoon's major relief project during the economic depression of the 1930s. The city, province, and federal governments provided a total of $850,000 to construct the bridge as a method of providing some paid employment to men on relief. The approaches to the bridge were built in the spring of 1932. |
