Scope and contentLost Land of the Caribou is the story of trapper Ed Theriau's experiences in Northern Saskatchewan, specifically the area between Wollaston and Cree Lakes during the mid twentieth century. Theriau speaks at length about northern life and people, including the Dene and Cree of the area. The book is based on Ed's notebooks and stories related to Patricia Armstrong, also of Ed's hometown of Sturgis, SK. One Chapter is devoted to the Chipewyan (Dene) nation, its historical struggles with the Cree and Inuit, and way of life.
