Curator's note | When Carling O'Keefe closed its Saskatoon brewery in 1989 the employees pooled their resources to purchase the plant and to establish The Great Western Brewing Company. The company is now one of Canada's most successful regional brewers. Its advertising often emphasizes its "Western" difference and evokes regional and community pride. |
