Curator's note | Some elders still remember when milk, bread, eggs, meat, coal,ice and other household products were all delivered right to your front door usually by horse drawn carts. As the 20th century progressed more of these deliveries were done by automotive vans. However work horses were given a reprieve from retirement and the slaughterhouse by the second World War when rationing was extended to the production and sale of new motor vehicles. |
